The main attraction of Kotka Maritime Centre Vellamo and Maretarium are splendid sights for children of all ages.

Maretarium - Aquarium house of Finnish Fish
Maretarium is open every day.
Fish can be observed on two floors and in several theme aquariums in which fish swim in their natural habitat. In the summertime in addition to fish one can see other fauna of Finnish waters in Maretarium. In Nature school class room one can define the age of the fish and colour one's own Maretarium Mascot Hanna the Pike!

Maritime Centre Vellamo
Maritime Centre Vellamo operate Maritime Museum of Finland, Museum of Kymenlaakso, Information Centre Vellamo, Restaurant Laakonki and Museum shop Plootu.
Maritime Museum of Finland offers various interactive activities and children are specially noticed.
Open Tue-Sun at 10-18 and on Wednesdays at 18-20, free admission on these prolonged opening hours.
Entrance tickets 8 €/person, those under 18 years old free of charge.

Katariina Seaside Park
Splendid area for hiking and other outdoor activities year around. There are places for barbeque, frisbee baskets, stone labyrinth, bird watching tower and playing ground for children on the park area.
Sapokka Water Garden
Nice paths for hiking, animal scultptures, water fall and stone park
Kotka Sculture Promenade
Convenient route for hiking with children (approx. 2,5 km). Sculptures are located withing nice distance from one another and there are nice cafes, restaurants, playing grounds and park benches along the route.
